ML2 house
In this second project for the ML house, the owners bought the neighboring terrain, doubling the area of the site available for the new project. This way, the program for the residence was organized in a single floor, in a horizontal pavilion. The plan is organized by a strip with few openings, parallel to the street, where the wet and service areas are located, as well as the vertical circulation. The dry areas are open to the site’s native vegetation and are contiguous to this service strip: the living and dining areas are located by the kitchen and the pantry, an external patio by the stairs and the bedrooms and family room by the bathrooms. The patio separates the living areas from the more intimate rooms.
Taking advantage of the sloping terrain, the volume with the studios and service areas was place beneath the horizontal pavilion. Its roofing creates a garden by the house’s living area.
