São Vicente Ferrer Square | 1st place

The urban design of the São Vicente Ferrer Square has as a starting point the main existing elements – the perimetral trees, the Church, and the linearity of the two small squares behind it – in order to define the main interventions that structure the it: the axis that recovers the importance of the atrium of the church; the round dry space for events in a central area of the square; platforms under the trees, improving the use of the areas under the tree canopy while redesigning its topography; and the ‘rambla’ as a pedestrian walkway articulating the longitudinal squares [not built] and the main space.
