Doris Salcedo Gallery

This gallery was designed based on the demands of the artwork Neither, from the Colombian artist Doris Salcedo. The site chosen for the deployment of the gallery is located at the beginning of the road that leads to an expansion area of the park, a place of transition between the garden and native forest. Interestingly, this boundary condition between areas of very different characteristics approximates the location for the gallery to the theme of Neither.

The gallery was based on the idea of providing visitors the experience of entering a confined space. Entering the building they gradually lose the reference from the outside. As a place of confinement, the building tries to maintain an austere language using a basic geometry, related only to the form and materiality of the work. This is operated by the continuous external surface that surrounds the entire building.
